Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River, dropping
below flood stage near Plumfield Sunday, and near Murphysboro
Tuesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and will continue.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 22.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday morning and continue falling to 14.0 feet Friday,
April 25.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Hamilton County woman charged with attempted murder

HAMILTON CO., IL (WSIL) -- Lynda K. Johnson, 78, of McLeansboro made her first appearance in court on Tuesday.

The Hamilton County Sheriff says Johnson shot her spouse on July 5. Sheriff's deputies were called to Hamilton Memorial Hospital around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

The gunshot victim was eventually transported to an Evansville, IN hospital.

Johnson is now in the White County Jail facing attempted murder, aggravated battery, and aggravated discharge of a firearm charges.

Court records show Johnson is being held on $250,000 bond. No additional court dates have been set.
