WOODLAWN, Ill. -- A Jefferson County man faces charges after authorities respond to a shots fired report.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said a deputy responded to the shots fired report in the 14000-block of N. Concordia Lane in Woodlawn on August 31 at 8:16 p.m.
The sheriff's office said a 66-year-old female victim was there which told authorities her boyfriend was inside the home and armed.
The sheriff's office identified this person as Paul E. Pfister, 58 of Woodlawn.
Multiple law enforcement agencies then arrived at the home and set up a perimeter. This includes members from the Illinois State Police, Illinois Department of Natural Resources and Mt. Vernon Police Department, along with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office said Pfister complied with the requests from deputies to come out of the home peacefully. He was then taken into custody without any further incidents.
Detectives with the sheriff's office then helped out with a search warrant at the home. Pfister was also taken to Crossroads Hospital and then to the justice center in Jefferson County.
Pfister faces charges of Domestic Battery and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.
