CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- Illinois Governor JB Pritzker signed into law in February, but weeks after it's passing many are still unsure of what the Justice and Criminal Reform means for residents in Illinois.
To help iron out the details, the Carbondale NAACP and Carbondale Public Library are holding an online discussion.
The meeting will be held with State Senator Elgie Sims Junior, who sponsored the bill before coming into law.
The reform package comes from the Legislative Black Caucus after the death of George Floyd and other cases of police misconduct.
However, many critics say it weakens the ability of law enforcement to do their job.
The meeting will be held virtually and begins at 6 P.M. Monday March 8th.
