COLP, Ill. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) said on December 18, at 6:34 p.m., deputies saw a person, identified as Rusty Wagley Jr. in a vehicle near Herrin Road and Mayor Caliper Drive in Colp.

The WCSO said they knew Wagley’s driver’s license was revoked. They also said he “was observed committing multiple violations of the Illinois Vehicle Code.

Deputies then tried to pull him over.

That’s when Wagley stopped the vehicle, got out and ran away, WCSO said. He then ran into a neighbors house.

Authorities surrounded the home. A total of eight officers were on scene and went into the home where they said they were able to get him down on the ground and take him into custody.

He faces charges of fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer, Driving While License Revoked, Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, Improper Turn and Operating Uninsured Vehicle.

He was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
