SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- One person was arrested after police said he led them on a high-speed pursuit through two southeast Missouri counties.
The Scott City Police Department said the E-911 Communications got a report of a careless and imprudent driver in Scott City in the area of Dearborn Street and that a Dodge Challenger was doing "burnouts" in the area on May 27.
An off-duty officer also heard of someone doing "donuts" in a funeral home parking lot.
Officers then reportedly found the vehicle and tried to pull them over, however, a pursuit then began.
The Dodge Challenger reached speeds of 110 mph and traveled through Scott County and into Mississippi County, Scott City Police Department said in a report.
Some stop sticks were used to deflate the tires, however, the vehicle kept going at a slow rate of speed and violated traffic laws, police described.
The Dodge Challenger stopped in Morley along U.S. Highway 61. The driver then was arrested and taken into custody and identified as Lance David Pruden of Scott City, police stated.
A search warrant was also obtained for two vials of blood, police added. During the intake process, police took Pruden to a hospital and said he was physically combative towards officers.
Pruden faces charges of Resisting Arrest by fleeing creating a substantial risk of serious injury/death to any person, DWI-Prior, Careless and Imprudent Driving and Exceeding the posted speed limit (by 26 or more over the posted speed limit).
