CARMI, Ill. (WSIL) -- A man wanted in southern Illinois for several years has been arrested in Cook County on Wednesday.
The White County Sheriff's Office said on December 18, a member with the U.S. Marshals informed the sheriff's office about a person they took into custody who was wanted out of several Illinois communities, including White County.
The sheriff's office stated Harold Artice Ivy was taken into custody in Cook County after stepping off of an Amtrak train.
Ivy was wanted out of White County on a Failure to Appear warrant for Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault and Resisting a Peace Officer, the sheriff's office stated. Ivy was also reported being wanted on charges out of Clinton County, Cook County, Edwards County in Illinois, and out of Knox County, Indiana.
White County Sheriff Jordan Weiss said this has been an ongoing manhunt for several years in trying to get Ivy in custody.Â
Ivy was taken to the Cook County Jail.
Sheriff Weiss thanked the U.S. Marshal Service for helping with arresting Ivy.
