MARION, Ill. -- A man now faces a drug charge after deputies arrest him for failing to appear to court for a stolen vehicle charge.
The Williamson County Sheriff's Office said deputies were serving an arrest warrant on Richard J. Bird in the 100-block of North 4th Street in Marion on October 6.
Bird was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear for possession of a stolen vehicle.
While deputies were taking Bird into custody, they found a white crystal type substance on him which later field tested for methamphetamine, the sheriff's office said.
Bird was given a citation for possession of methamphetamine and was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
