WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Williamson County Sheriff's Office reported their deputies arrested Carl Olsen after a traffic stop near the intersection of Mayor Caliper Drive and Herrin Road in Colp on April 17.

The sheriff's office said deputies observed Olsen commit a traffic violation at a stop sign.

During the traffic stop, a K9 unit conducted a free air sniff of Olsen's vehicle, resulting in a positive alert for narcotics, the sheriff's office reported. Investigators said they then searched the vehicle and discovered a bag containing methamphetamine.

Authorities charged Olsen with possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony. He was then taken to the Williamson County Jail.
