Paducah Man Arrested After Fleeing Deputies In Stolen Truck

Paducah, KY --- Deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff's Office arrest a man following a chase in a stolen vehicle. 

This happened on Sunday just before 4 p.m. 

A deputy observed a 2001 GMC Sierra in the parking lot of the Kroger on Park Avenue in Paducah. The truck has previously been reported stolen to police.

When the deputy tried to stop the truck, it began to drive away, nearly striking another deputy on its way out of the parking lot.

Deputies chased it down Park Avenue and onto North 14th Street. That's where a deputy used a low-speed PIT maneuver, stopping the truck.

Authorities arrested the driver, identified as 20 year old Justus White of Paducah.

He faces the following charges:

  • Speeding 26 mph or > speed limit

  • Reckless driving

  • Fleeing or evading police, 1st degree (motor vehicle)

  • Wanton endangerment-1st degree-police officer

  • Criminal mischief, 1st degree

  • No operators-moped license

  • Disregarding traffic control device-traffic light

  • Receiving stolen property $1,000 < $10,000

White was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
