Perry County man charged with possession of child pornography

PERRY COUNTY (WSIL) -- Attorney General Kwame Raoul announced Monday a Perry County man has been charged with possession of child pornography.

Timothy E. Hedrick, 40, of Cutler, Illinois, was charged in Perry County Circuit Court with five counts of possession of child pornography, Class 2 felonies punishable by up to three to seven years in prison. Hedrick’s bond is set at $200,000.

Raoul’s investigators, with the assistance of the Perry County Drug Task Force � comprised of the Perry County Sheriff's office and the Du Quoin and Pinckneyville police departments � conducted a search of a residence Wednesday, March 3, in the 300 block of Center Street in Cutler and arrested Hedrick after discovering evidence of alleged child pornography. The Attorney General’s office will prosecute the case with Perry County State’s Attorney David H. Searby Jr.’s office.

“Child pornography leaves victims and their families with lifelong scars,� Raoul said. “My office is committed to working with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and local law enforcement to track down and stop the individuals who perpetuate these horrible crimes.�
