.Levels on the Big Muddy River will continue to fall, dropping below
flood stage near Plumfield and Murphysboro late Sunday or Monday.

Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until early Monday morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 24.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late Sunday evening.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Special prosecutor appointed to Burns case

(WSIL) � A special prosecutor will now handle a murder case involving a Harrisburg doctor and his estranged wife.  

Brian Burns is accused of murdering his wife Carla, as the two were going through a divorce in April of 2016.

The Saline County State’s Attorney says two new prosecutors in her office, were contacted by Burns to represent him in this case so she wants to avoid a possible conflict of interest.  

Burns is set to go on trial in September. Â
