Suspect arrested in sexual assault investigation, female sent to hospital

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (WSIL) -- UPDATE: Police in Poplar Bluff said they have arrested the suspect in the sexual assault case and charges are pending.

ORIGINAL: December 3, 9 p.m. -- Authorities are looking for the public's help in finding a person who is suspected of being involved in a sexual assault incident in Poplar Bluff.

The Poplar Bluff Police Department said they responded to the Holiday Inn at 2781 North Westwood Boulevard on November 30, at 11:46 a.m. for a report of a sexual assault.

Once officers got to the scene, they said the 25-year-old victim was attending an event there at the hotel and said she was attacked by a male in the women's restroom.

Police said the victim then ran from the suspect and alerted others about the incident. She was also reported to have been sent to the hospital afterwards for treatment of injuries during the assault.

Officers looked at some surveillance video and shared images of who they believe is the suspect in this incident.

Police are asking anyone who knows who this suspect is and where they might be to call the Poplar Bluff Police Department at 573-785-5776.
