MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. -- Two people face charges after deputies investigate a report of a copper theft and drug possession in McCracken County.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said their deputies responded to a business in the 4000-block of Clarks River Road in Paducah for a theft which was reported on July 23.

Deputies suspect someone driving up to the property on what was described as a modified go-cart. Authorities then suspect someone cut multiple copper wires from a breaker box.

The sheriff's office said the breaker box was also damaged.

At 11:54 p.m. on July 23, another report came in of a go-cart and a man at the Five Star on Clarks River Road. Deputies arrived at the scene and said the man was identified as Jason C. Peace, 50 of Paducah.

Authorities said Peace had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest. Deputies also searched Peace and said they found a glass smoking pipe which contained meth in it.

Peace was then arrested and taken to the McCracken County Jail.

On July 24, authorities then served a search warrant at the home of Peace. In the home, deputies allegedly found the stolen copper and a small amount of meth.

Kimberly Humphrey, 49 of Eddyville, Kentucky, was also found. Humphrey was also arrested and taken to the McCracken County jail.

Peace faces multiple charges, including Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Mischief and Probation Violation.

Humphrey faces charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia.
