WILLIAMSON COUNTY (WSIL) A man wanted in connection with vehicle thefts in Williamson County has been taken into custody.
Marion Police say Adam R. Walker, 34, of Freeman Spur, was arrested Wednesday for unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, possession of stolen property and possession of meth with intent to deliver.Â
Police say they’d received multiple tips about Walker and were able to track him down in the area of Main Street and Fair Street.Â
Authorities had been looking for Walker .
Williamson County Sheriff’s Deputy Brian Murrah said Walker’s name is familiar to the criminal system.Â
"He would have been somebody that a couple of us would have talked with at one point in time or another over the last couple of years," Murrah said.Â
According to court records, Walker has several felonies related to theft.Â
- 2005: He was charged with criminal trespassing to vehicles.Â
- 2008: He was arrested for being a felon with a gun, but the charges were dropped.Â
- 2016: He was charged with burglary and served time behind bars.
Just after 4:00 a.m. on April 24, Marion Police officers checked a suspicious vehicle near the Williamson County Courthouse. Officers identified Walker as the driver but determined there was no evidence of criminal activity and cleared the call.Â
"He was in a vehicle that was stolen an hour or two before, but that theft hadn’t been discovered yet," Murrah said.Â
Around 5:20 a.m. on April 24, deputies with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a home on Corinth Road. One of the resident’s vehicles had been stolen and the other burglarized. She also discovered a different vehicle in her driveway, one that had been stolen earlier in Marion.Â
As deputies were investigating, Marion Police received a 911 report of a traffic crash and fire on Route 166 and Canaville Road. The caller had driven up on the crash and stopped to help. While she was on the phone with 911, the driver of the crashed vehicle, later identified as Walker, stole her 2010 Chevy Impala and drove away.Â
She was someone not from familiar with the area," Murrah said. "She had walked away from her vehicle to get numbers off a mailbox and while she was away from her car, evidently he (Walker) jumped right in and took off."
Walker is being held in the Williamson County Jail and is awaiting trail.
