MURRAY, Ky. (WSIL) -- One person faces an attempted murder charge after police say he went inside a woman's home and tried to kill her.

The Murray Police Department said they responded to a home in the northern part of Murray on December 5, at 10:36 a.m. for a stabbing report.

Once officers got to the scene, they said they found someone who looks like they were stabbed and started providing aid while other officers searched for a suspect.

Moments later, police said they took Crimson Jackson, 31 of Murray, into custody.

Officers on scene started investigating. Police accused Jackson of going into the victim's home, without her knowing it, and tried to kill her by stabbing and strangling her. Police also said the suspect attempted to take money from the victim as well.

Murray police took Jackson to the Calloway County Jail and was cited for charges of Attempted Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Strangulation 1st Degree and Burglary 1st Degree.
