Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

ending at 8:30 PM CDT Thursday was 28.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 28.0
feet just after midnight tonight.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Woman shot and killed in Poplar Bluff, suspect in custody

POPLAR BLUFF (WSIL) -- Poplar Bluff Police investigating shooting that left one woman dead.

Police responded to a residence in the 800 block of Valley Street just before 3 a.m. Tuesday, after a report of a person who had been shot.

When officers arrived, a woman was found lying in the driveway with a gunshot wound.

The victim, 30-year-old Tanika Trice, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A person of interest was taken into custody on un-related charges however, future charges relating to the shooting investigation are expected.

The investigation into this incident is on-going and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Poplar Bluff Police Department at (573) 785-5776.
