.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River, dropping
below flood stage near Plumfield Sunday, and near Murphysboro
Tuesday.

- At 10:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday morning and continue falling to 15.1 feet Thursday,
April 24.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

DeSoto man hit and killed by vehicle in Kentucky

MCCRACKEN COUNTY (WSIL) -- A DeSoto, Illinois man was killed after being hit by a vehicle on Monday.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on September 6, in the 7000 block of Ogden Landing Road.

Deputies learned Steven Kent, 40 of DeSoto, was walking east when a pickup, driven by 77-year-old Louis Lynn, struck him.

Kent was pronounced dead at the scene by McCracken County Coroner Amanda Melton.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Mercy Regional Ambulance, McCracken County D.E.S., West McCracken Fire Department, and McCracken County Coroner Amanda Melton.
