MURRAY, Ky. (WSIL) -- News 3 has reaction from Murray State University after their announcement that .
That stimulus money comes from the Federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund. Qualifying students will be eligible for grants up to $1,500.
Murray State's president tells News 3 the university understands the challenges from the pandemic and the impacts it has on their students.
"We're proud and happy to do that. We need to help our students. And again, during this pandemic, that last 17 months have been really hard on this country, our families, our students, and this is a way for us to help," said Dr. Bob Jackson.
Jackson says the university will send out an email about grant money for the spring semester. Students can expect that information this fall.
Murray State has already forgiven up to $1 million in student debt.
