Rep. Jacobs launches summer reading program

MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- State Rep. Paul Jacobs of Pomona announced the launch of his annual summer reading program for first through fourth-grade students in the 118th State Representative district.

"I am inviting 1st through 4th graders to participate in my 2025 'Get in the Game' Summer Reading Club," Jacobs said. "This is one of my favorite events to host each year. I encourage everyone, not just kids, to read more books and enjoy the wealth of literature available at our school and public libraries. Whether your interest is in sports, the great outdoors, science, history, or art, your adventures are endless.�

Students who read at least eight books by July 3, 2025, will receive an official Illinois House of Representatives Certificate of Recognition and two tickets to a Thrillbillies baseball game at Mountain Dew Park in Marion. The event will take place on a Wednesday in July, celebrating summer readers with a "Night at the Ballpark."

Participants must submit their completed reading forms to Rep. Jacobs� Marion District Office at 600 North Halfway Road, Suite 103, Marion, IL 62959. Forms require parental verification and can also be .
