Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River, dropping
below flood stage near Plumfield Sunday, and near Murphysboro
Tuesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until late Sunday evening.

- At 7:30 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 23.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday afternoon.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

4th annual Shawnee Sasquatch Festival

HARRISBURG, IL (WSIL) -- Many believe that Sasquatch or Bigfoot lives in the shadows among us. Maybe you've even experienced a sighting.

To celebrate, The City of Harrisburg is holding its 4th annual Shawnee Sasquatch Festival.Ìý

Organizers boast about free entry, free carnival rides, free LIVE music and free parking throughout the city.Ìý

The event is taking place downtown Harrisburg on October 5th with several activities throughout the day: 

  • 10 a.m. - Run Like a Sasquatch 5K
  • 11 a.m. - Vendors and Rides open 
  • Noon - Sasquatch Experts Roundtable 
  • Noon - Jake Myers Band
  • Noon - Unique Auto Show 
  • 2 p.m. - ARTSCO Art Show & Contest
  • 2:30 p.m. - Kids Squatch Calling Contest 
  • 3:30 - The Shagadelics Band 
  • 6 p.m. - Adult Squatch Calling Contest 
  • 7:30 p.m. - The Breakfast Club band
