...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON CDT /1 PM EDT/ TODAY TO
7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values 100 to 108 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...From noon CDT /1 PM EDT/ today to 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first prolonged stretch of heat and
humidity of the season will amplify health impacts. Health impacts
will build with each successive day in the heat and humidity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Graves County Sheriff's Office in immediate need of specific donation items

GRAVES COUNTY (WSIL) -- The Graves County Sheriff's Office says there is an immediate need for specific donation items. 

  • Generators
  • NEW red gas and yellow diesel cans. Used cans will not be accepted.
  • Electric and propane heaters
  • Extension cords (15-100 ft.)
  • Power strips
  • Tarps
  • Gift Cards (Mail to the Graves County Health Department, 416 Central Ave., Mayfield, KY 42066)

ONLY the donations listed above will be accepted at the warehouse located at 1 General Street, Mayfield Ky (The old General Tire location).

Warehouse hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
