MARION, Ill (WSIL) -- A blood drive in Marion Monday honored a resident who's fighting cancer. Dugie Fox was diagnosed with Leukemia in January. He's needed several blood transfusions while he fights the disease.
Fox and his family hope to get the word out about how important it is to give blood.
"We never knew what it took and how important it is to give blood. I've had over 60 blood transfusions, and we're just tryijng to get with the community and give back." said, Dugie Fox.
"We've been so very blessed by our community with this sickness. A lot of people care, so we're thankful." said Brandi Fox.
The first 100 donors got a T-shirt for Monday's drive.
