MARION (WSIL) -- Getting enough sleep can have multiple health benefits and is one of the easiest ways to improve your immune system.

It's recommended that you get eight hours of sleep per night.

But, Doctor Eric Graham, of Heartland Regional Medical Center, says everyone is different and you should experiment to see how many hours are right for you.

"Tough thing is figuring out how many hours of sleep you require because everyone's different, you may only need 7 hours, you may need 9 hours, but it's important to get that sleep at least every night to go through the different stages of sleep to be ready to go the next day," Dr. Graham said.

Some easy ways to start sleeping better are having a consistent bedtime and being more active throughout the day.
