MASSAC COUNTY, Ill. (WSIL) -- Crews dealt with a large wheat field fire that turned into smaller brush fires Sunday afternoon.
It happened on Route 145 south of Southern FS near the Pope & Massac county lines around 4:30 p.m. according to a Facebook post by the Pope County Rural Fire Protection District.
County firefighters called for mutual aid as the large fire became smaller brush fires. Pope County EMS and Massac County Fire assisted. No injuries were reported.
