MT. VERNON, Ill. (WSIL) -- Eastbound Interstate 64 will undergo an emergency closure starting Tuesday, April 22 at 7 p.m.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office shared information about the upcoming closure.
During the closure, traffic will be redirected at the Centralia 61 exit. The alternate route will guide drivers onto U.S. Highway 51 southbound, continuing to Illinois Highway 15 east, and then to Interstate 57.
The closure is scheduled to end on Wednesday morning at 7 a.m.
Motorists are advised to plan their travel accordingly and consider potential delays.
