- At 8:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 24.8 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late Sunday evening and continue falling to 17.5 feet

- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Free food giveaway scheduled for Carterville on Friday

CARTERVILLE, IL (WSIL) -- Folks in southern Illinois are welcome to receive some free food if they need it on Friday morning.

The City of Carterville is hosting a free food giveaway on Friday, January 13th at 10 a.m. at Cannon Park.

Motorists are asked to line up on the gravel lane behind the community center, open your trunk and crews will load up the food while you stay in the vehicle.

The event is sponsored by the St. Louis Food Bank.
