NORRIS CITY, Ill. (WSIL) -- A highway is scheduled to close over the weekend while crews replace a culvert in White County.
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced they will be closing both directions of US 45, roughly three miles north of Norris City, starting at 6 p.m. on December 13.
The closure is necessary for crews to replace a culvert.
US 45 will be closed to all traffic through the weekend and is expected to reopen on Monday 16, at 6 a.m.
A posted detour will be put up to help motorists with an alternative route around the closed portion of the highway.
IDOT reminds drivers to pay close attention to any changing conditions, obey posted speed limit signs, be alert for workers and equipment and to not use any mobile devices.
