.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River for the next
week, dropping near to below flood stage by April 20.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (WSIL) � UPDATE: Power has been restored.

ORIGINAL: A power outage in Jackson County has left many in the dark and has closed businesses and services for the day on Friday.

According to , there were 5,667 Ameren customers out as of 7:27 a.m. on Friday.

The Jackson County Courthouse will be closed on Friday, January 17, due to the power outage.

The Jackson County Courts will also be closed and all court cases for the day will reset. For more information, you can find it on the Jackson County Circuit Clerk’s website.
