MAKANDA, Ill. -- A program designed to teach children lifelong skills is coming up in southern Illinois this summer.
This community supported program is called the Team Illinois Youth Police Camp.Â
This program will provide courses on internet safety, how to interview for a job, dealing with depression, team building exercises, ways to give back to the community and more.
Numerous agencies will be on hand to help assist with the weeklong activities. This includes local police and sheriff's departments, Illinois State Police, National Guard, Carbondale Police Department and more.
will take place at the Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center from June 8th - 14th in Makanda.
 is open for a cost of $25 per applicant.
