...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Plumfield and near Murphysboro

.Moderate to major flooding continues along the Big Muddy River. At
Plumfield, the river is now forecast to crest in moderate flood
stage near 28.5 feet Friday morning. At Murphysboro, the river has
crested and started a very slow fall.

For the Big Muddy River...including Plumfield, Murphysboro...
Moderate to Major flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Several structures damaged by weight of ice and snow in Benton, Illinois

BENTON, Ill. (WSIL) -- Firefighters in Benton responded to some structural damage to a building in Benton on Saturday morning.

A Benton Fire Department spokesperson said they were called out to S. Main Street near the railroad tracks for a building which had damage to it due to the weight of the ice and snow.

The fire spokesperson stated there was damage to the top portion of the wall on the building.

Firefighters in Benton says this isn't the first time they've responded to a damaged building due to the winter weather. They said they have had several structures damaged due to the weight of the ice and snow this past week after the ice storm hit on January 5.
