WEST FRANKFORT, Ill. -- Traffic is backed up along I-57 near the West Frankfort area as crews are removing a semi-truck which overturned late on Wednesday.
West Frankfort Police Department tells News 3 crews are removing a semi-truck which overturned along I-57. The removal of the truck was around 11 a.m. on Thursday.
Traffic for both northbound lanes were first shut down at around 9 a.m. which then allowed a tow truck to remove the semi-truck from the shoulder of the roadway, Illinois State Police (ISP) said.
ISP stated this was at the 68 mile marker. The driver was reportedly taken to a local hospital with injuries at the time of the crash.
It is unknown how long traffic will be impacted.
