SESSER, Ill. -- The city of Sesser began a wastewater project which is helping improve the region's tourism industry.

It's a $2 million Army Corps/Sesser wastewater project which will help services in the city.

Back in August, we told you about some infrastructure improvement grants for the city of Sesser. The mayor of Sesser, Jason Ashmore, then said "Waterlines and especially our wastewater dates back to the 1920's. We have been making some headway but this is not something you can do overnight."

Mayor Ashmore said on Thursday in a Facebook post on the city's page, "With this joint project the Corp facilities will get the much needed service that is needed and together we will continue to help improve the region’s tourism industry. A big shout out to Wiggs Excavating. #sesserstrong"
