ENERGY, Ill. (WSIL) -- Winds have damaged a building in Energy on Wednesday afternoon.
A News 3 employee was in Energy when the incident happened on the afternoon of March 19.聽
The wind blew a portion of the roof off of the Helia Healthcare of Energy building.
An administrator at Helia Healthcare said nobody was hurt or impacted by the roof damage, however, they are moving people to different rooms for safety. The administrator said the portion of the roof which was impacted was over the long-term care area of the building.
High wind gusts have been reported throughout the day in the region.
The National Weather Service reported a 60 mph wind gust in De Soto at 12:52 p.m. on Wednesday. Another wind gust was reported at 53 mph in Scott City at 12:53 p.m.
