MAYFIELD, Ky., (WSIL) -- The Kentucky State Police want to invite the public to come out and enjoy their 'Coffee with a Trooper' event. The event is in conjunction with the national 'Coffee with a Cop' event, which is held across the nation, this year on October 2nd.

'Coffee with a Cop' was created in 2011 and meant to build trust with local law enforcement. The event is held in communities big and small. Currently, the 'Coffee with a Cop' is held in 33 nations and in 9 different languages. The full idea is to create a space with no communication barriers, no speeches or agenda, but honest conversation about issues directly affecting our communities.

This year, the KSP Post 1 will participate and bring along their 1978 Ford cruiser, making stops in 4 locations.

You can meet KSP Post Troopers, and see their 1978 Ford cruiser, at the following locations this week:

Tuesday, October 1, 2024 - 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. - Future Grounds located at 1201 Payne Street, Murray, KY
