CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. -- A 72-year-old woman is dead and another person injured after a 3-vehicle crash on Sunday.

Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 reported the incident happened on Sunday afternoon at around 12:15 p.m. along US-641 near Radio Road in Calloway County.

KSP said the crash involved three vehicles, one of them a 2021 Buick Envision, driven by a 72-year-old Janice Gream of Mayfield woman who was going west on Radio Road. A passenger was also in the car at the time of the crash.

The second vehicle was a 2023 International rollback wrecker, driven by a 29-year-old Almo man. He was going north on US-641.

The third vehicle was a 2001 Buick Sedan, driven by a 41-year-old Water Valley, Ky. man.

KSP said the Sedan was crossing US-641 into the path of the wrecker at the same time the Envision was attempting to cross US-641 as well.

The wrecker hit the driver's side of the Envision, then it continued across the median where it then hit the Sedan before coming to a rest, KSP said.

Gream was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger in Gream's vehicle was air lifted to an out-of-state hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
