GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. -- Kentucky Police responded to a Graves County woman's guilty verdict of sexual acts on a minor on Saturday.Â
The Graves County Commonwealth's Attorney announced the verdict for Brittany White on May 4. White received the following charges for her actions:
- Unlawful Transaction with Minor, Victim Under 16
- Unlawful Use of Electronic Means to Induce Minor to Engage in Sexual ActivitiesÂ
- Intimidating Participant in Legal Process
In short, officials say White was found illegally messaging an underage individual whom she connected with during her time as a case manager for an adoption agency in 2020.Â
After leaving the agency to pursue a relationship with the minor's foster dad, White left the dad and began Snapchatting with the minor. This lasted from October 2020 until White's arrest by Kentucky State Police in February 2021.Â
°Õ°ù´Ç´Ç±è±ð°ùÌýSarah Burgess with the Kentucky State Police commented on the guilty verdict on Saturday.
"Last week ended with closure," said Burgess. "I pray the outcome of this jury trial, and the closure that comes with it, allows the victim in this case to move forward with hope for the bright future he has ahead of him. Thank you to the prosecutors, the witnesses that testified, and the members of the jury."
White will receive an official sentence on July 15. As per the jury's request, White is facing 15 years in prison. Officials say White would have to serve at least 85% of that sentence before qualifying for possible parole.Â
Regardless of the sentence, White must join the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry for Life and will face five years of supervision upon release from prison.
