...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Murphysboro affecting Jackson County.

Big Muddy River near Plumfield affecting Franklin and Williamson
Counties.

.The Big Muddy River continues to rise due to heavy rain last week
and over the weekend. The river will crest on Thursday before
starting a very slow fall.

For the Big Muddy River...including Plumfield, Murphysboro...Major
flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 28.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 30.7
feet early Thursday morning.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Two bridges in Calloway County closed for structural issues

Road closed

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. -- Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 1 is reporting two bridges are now closed for structural issues in Calloway County on Monday.

These bridges are on Coleman Branch Road and Squire Holland Road.

Coleman Branch Road (CR 1201)

  • Closed to all vehicles at McCullough Fork Bridge at MP 0.052 due to the condition of the substructure

Squire Holland Road (CR 1405)

  • Closed to all vehicles at the Clarks River Fork Bridge at MP 1.08聽聽due to the condition of the substructure

The closure order came after a routine inspection by Kentucky Transportation Cabinet certified inspectors.

KYTC District 1 engineers will assist the Calloway County Road Department with an evaluation of the bridge structure to determine it if can be repaired or should be replaced.
