WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WSIL) The Williamson County Sheriff's Office says on Sunday, April 20th, around 2 p.m. deputies responded to a report of a man hitting a minor on the 200 block of North Dudley Street in Pittsburg.

Witnesses told authorities that the 14-year-old victim and his cousin were walking down the street when the suspect, Frank Walker confronted them.

Deputies say some video footage showed Walker hitting, pulling, and choking the child.

The child had visible marks on his face and neck, according to authorities.

The sheriff's office said when Walker was confronted about the incident, he admitted he hit the child and told deputies that he thought the child was an adult.

Walker was arrested and booked into the Williamson County Jail on a felony aggravated battery charge.
