...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Plumfield and near Murphysboro

.Moderate to major flooding continues along the Big Muddy River. At
Plumfield, the river is now forecast to crest in moderate flood
stage near 28.5 feet Friday morning. At Murphysboro, the river is
cresting currently cresting in major flood stage near 36.4 feet.

For the Big Muddy River...including Plumfield, Murphysboro...
Moderate to Major flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 28.5
feet Friday morning.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
28.6 feet on 05/02/2017.

Missing Carbondale woman found dead

JACKSON COUNTY (WSIL) -- A woman missing from the Carbondale area has been found dead. 

Carbondale Police officers were investigating the whereabouts of missing person Ashley Curtis, who was reported missing at May 3, 2022. 

In the course of the investigation, officers located a deceased woman in the 400 block of E. College Street on May 9. That person was confirmed to be Curtis. 

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office and State's Attorney's Office are assisting with the investigation. 

It is still active and ongoing.
