35-year-old woman dead after single-vehicle crash in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (WSIL) -- Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle crash which resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman.

The Cape Girardeau Police Department said on April 4, at 10:58 a.m., police responded to the 2000-block of Bloomfield Road for a crash. There police investigated and said a blue 2020 GMC Acadia was going east when the vehicle went of the road, hit a mailbox and then hit a tree.

The driver was identified as Ashley Braxton, 35 of Cape Girardeau.

The Cape Girardeau Police Department Traffic Division is investigating the incident.
