One dead, one injured after single-vehicle crash in southeast Missouri

FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. (WSIL) -- One man is dead and another injured after a vehicle ran off the road and overturned on Monday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash happened at 2:42 a.m. on December 16, in Madison County, roughly three miles south of Fredericktown on US 67.

State police said a 43-year-old from St. Louis was driving a 2023 Nissan Rogue going north when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and overturned.

The Madison County Coroner pronounced the 43-year-old dead at the scene. The passenger in the vehicle was a 44-year-old from Bloomington, Minnesota. which suffered moderate injuries.

Both were reported not wearing a seatbelt.

This was reported as the 68th traffic related death for the southeast Missouri area in 2024.
