One injured by gunshots in Sikeston, police investigate

SIKESTON, Mo. (WSIL) -- Police in Sikeston are investigating a shooting which they say resulted in one person injured and taken to a hospital on Monday evening.

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety said officers responded to the area of the 800-block of W. Gladys Street during the evening hours on October 21, after they were informed of multiple shots fired.

Police said one person was injured from the gunshots and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating the shooting incident.
