PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Visitors and residents in Perryville might notice some new artwork as they drive through town.
The city of Perryville welcomes art projects which adds to the experience for all who enter the area. This includes large art sculptures placed in strategic locations throughout the town.
On Friday, April 26, multiple new large sculptures were added as part of their fourth annual exhibit.
Crews rotated and added new art sculptures for all to see, enjoy and discuss.
"Art is important for communities," Perry County Heritage Director Trish Erzfeld said. "It adds beauty, interest and creates conversations. We have enjoyed each of our shows because they are so different from year to year. It has brought visitors to our area to see what is new with our murals and sculptures, and, pair that with a little shopping and dinner makes for a nice trip for everyone."

Overall, there are nine sculptures. Four of them are permanent pieces while five pieces are in rotation.
The sculptures are from artists throughout multiple states, including Kankakee, Illinois, Columbia, Cape Girardeau and Jackson, Missouri. The juror who chose the pieces is Glenn Williams of Madison, Wisconsin.
