MURPHYSBORO (WSIL) -- The Murphysboro City Council held a meeting last night to discuss changes in the city.
The city is working on a demolition project for the Gillenberg furniture building.
A thunderstorm collapsed the roof about six months ago.
The city is also working on new salary for a full-time mayor position.
Mayor Will Stephens says the city council is working to decide the proper salary amount.
"It's a complicated process to try to figure out what would be appropriate should they decide to do that because the salaries vary so much," he said.
A vote for a new salary will take place at the next council meeting.
