SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WREX) If you're child wants to set up a lemonade stand in Illinois, they'll be able to do so much easier starting in 2022.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker signed  recently, which allows a lemonade stand to be operated by a person under 16 without regulation and without the need to apply for a temporary food permit with the local health department.
The new law may also be referred to as "Hayli's Law."
The legislation was introduced back in February by Sen. Patrick Joyce and was later sponsored by Rockford-area lawmakers Rep. Andrew Chesney, Rep. Brian Stewart and Rep. Joe Sosnowski.
Hayli's Law goes into effect starting Jan. 1, 2022.
