...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON CDT /1 PM EDT/ TODAY TO
7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values 100 to 108 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...From noon CDT /1 PM EDT/ today to 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first prolonged stretch of heat and
humidity of the season will amplify health impacts. Health impacts
will build with each successive day in the heat and humidity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

New plans in the works for Walker’s Bluff Casino Resort

WILLIAMSON CO., Ill. (WSIL) -- Plans to bring a new destination resort to Williamson County may soon look a little different.

Elite Casino Resorts now plans to do construction in one phase for the .

The Illinois Gaming Board must now grant approval for the plans.

“We are hopeful for a positive outcome that gives us the privilege to open a premier casino resort in Illinois,� says Dan Kehl, Chief Executive Officer of Elite Casino Resorts. “The new proposed construction schedule allows us to open the casino, hotel, spa and all of our signature Elite amenities sooner, giving new customers a great first impression of the new Walker’s Bluff Casino Resort.�

On Tuesday, March 23 there will be a "construction informational meeting" at the Walker's Bluff Tasting Room.

The proposed permanent casino resort will feature over 650 slot machines, 20 table games, ELITE Sportsbook�, a 116-room hotel, pool, spa, a retail shop, show lounge, event center for concerts and events, and signature restaurants including a family dining outlet, Ruthie’s Steak and Seafood and Draft Day Sports Lounge®.
