Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River, dropping
below flood stage near Plumfield Sunday, and near Murphysboro
Tuesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and will continue.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday morning and continue falling to 15.1 feet Thursday,
April 24.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

New signage added to local schools in support of school resource officers

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (WSIL)—The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is showing its commitment to safety in local schools.Ìý

FCSO took to social media to share a new initiative in the county.Ìý

Several schools are adding signs in front of the schools to address the presence of an officer in their schools.Ìý

Several schools including Ewing Northern Elementary, Thompsonville Schools, and Akin Grade School have put up the signs.Ìý

The sheriff's office says the signs will help provide peace of mind to teachers, parents, and students on the safety inside their buildings.Ìý
