HEROD (WSIL) -- A 19-year-old woman suffered non-life threatening injuries after a fall near Camel Rock Sunday afternoon.
Equality Fire Chief Cole Baker says the woman fell about 40 feet and has multiple injuries, but none are life-threatening. She was airlifted to a hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
Baker says the woman slipped and fell while hiking with friends. He urges all hikers and park visitors to use extreme caution while being near tall cliffs and drop-offs.
The Chief also says a account has been set up for the Equality Fire Department for rope rescue equipment. He says better equipment and training is crucial for rescues such as these.
