MARION, IL (WSIL) -- The 2022 Miss Illinois has been crowned.Â
Monica Nia Jones, 25 year-old from Chicago won the title Saturday evening following at the Marion Cultural and Civic Center.
She was chosen from a group of 26 candidates from across the state. McKenna Vereeke, Miss River Valley was first runner up.
As Miss Illinois, Jones will represent the state at the Miss America competition in December.
