(WSIL) -- With 2020 coming to a close, there seems to be a theme with what people want from the new year.
"A healthy, safe, and prosperous new year," is what Kay Boese-Crane hopes for.
2020 brought canceled plans.
"The wife and I were supposed to take our honeymoon to Iceland. That would be really awesome to actually be able to do that," said Donald Wright.
And some have hopes for what 2021 can bring.
"To control the virus and get things back to where we can live again," is what Henry Krammerer wants.
With lockdowns across the country, 2020 was uneventful for a lot of people.
"It's just been crazy, just being inside, quarantined with not a whole lot of options," said Wright.
But with medical advances, including the new vaccines, people are hopeful for the possibilities the new year can bring.
"I'm just hoping that moving forward that this vaccine really does do what it's supposed to do so that we can all just get some normalcy back in our lives again," said Wright.
But others remind us that even with the new vaccines, the virus is far from being gone.
"It's not over yet. We still have to wear our masks and we still have to protect ourselves," said Krammerer.
But many say it's important to look forward to the future.
"Just don't dwell on all this negative stuff. Because it's really gonna make you depressed. Just try to find the good in everything," said Wright.
"Be kind to one another. Don't forget that we're all humans. And we need each other," said Boese-Crane.
